The M-D Building Products 63602 is a D-profile EPDM cellular rubber weatherstrip designed to seal large gaps around doors and windows. Constructed from 100% EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer), the strip blocks drafts, dust, and moisture from penetrating the building envelope. At 17 feet in length with a 23/64-inch profile, one roll covers one standard door or two average-size windows. The material maintains flexibility across a wide temperature range, from -40 degrees F to 140 degrees F, making it suitable for installations in both extreme cold and hot climates. A factory-applied self-adhesive backing allows direct attachment without additional fasteners or adhesives.
This weatherstrip is intended for residential and light commercial use on exterior doors and windows where air and moisture infiltration is a concern. It is commonly applied by property owners, maintenance technicians, and weatherization contractors performing energy-efficiency upgrades or seasonal maintenance. The D profile is specifically suited for larger gap applications where thinner foam profiles would compress fully and lose their sealing effectiveness. Brown coloring blends with common door and window frame finishes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation weatherstrip for standard residential exterior door frames and window sashes requiring a D-profile seal on large gap applications.
Clean and dry the mounting surface thoroughly before removing the adhesive liner, as dirt or moisture will reduce bond strength. Apply firm pressure along the full length of the strip after placement to ensure full adhesive contact. No special tools are required, but a utility knife is useful for cutting the strip to length at corners and transitions. Remove existing damaged weatherstrip completely before applying the new strip to prevent uneven seating.
