The M-D Building Products 02576 is a P-profile EPDM rubber weatherstrip designed to seal medium gaps around doors and windows. Constructed from 100% EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) cellular rubber, it blocks drafts, dust, and moisture from penetrating building envelopes. The strip remains flexible across a wide temperature range, from -40 degrees F to 140 degrees F, making it suitable for extreme climate applications. Each roll provides 17 feet of coverage and features a factory-applied self-adhesive backing for straightforward installation. Weatherization contractors, carpenters, and general building trades rely on this type of strip for both new construction and retrofit sealing work.
The 02576 is suited for residential and light commercial applications wherever medium-gap door and window perimeter sealing is required. A single roll provides enough material to seal one standard door or two average-size windows. The P-profile cross-section compresses evenly against the door stop or window sash, creating a consistent seal along the full contact surface. This product is appropriate for any climate zone where temperature cycling, wind-driven rain, or air infiltration are concerns.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install weatherstrip for residential and light commercial door and window frames requiring a P-profile medium-gap seal.
Installation is typically performed by carpenters, weatherization contractors, or knowledgeable DIYers. Clean and dry the mounting surface thoroughly before applying the adhesive-backed strip, as dirt or moisture will reduce bond strength. Cut the strip to length with a utility knife or scissors before peeling the liner and pressing firmly into place. No fasteners or special tools are required, but surface temperatures below 50 degrees F may reduce initial adhesion.
