The M-D BUILDING PRODUCTS 01033 is a closed-cell foam weatherstrip designed for automotive and marine sealing applications where extra-large gaps require a compressible, durable seal. Measuring 5/16 inches thick by 19/32 inches wide by 10 feet long, this all-profile strip ships in a single length ready for field cutting. The self-adhesive backing allows direct application to clean, dry surfaces without additional fasteners or adhesives. The foam material remains flexible across a wide temperature range, resists moisture absorption, and will not freeze or stiffen in cold conditions. HVAC and marine tradespeople as well as experienced DIYers install this type of strip to eliminate drafts, dust, and water intrusion around irregular or oversized gap profiles.
This weatherstrip is intended for marine vessel hatches, automotive door and trunk openings, and similar applications where standard-size foam tapes are too narrow or thin to fill the gap. The all-profile design accommodates irregular mating surfaces common in boat and vehicle construction. It is suitable for both OEM-style replacement and new-install sealing tasks wherever a compressible, weather-resistant foam bead is needed. The black color blends with common automotive and marine trim finishes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install seal for automotive and marine applications requiring an all-profile weatherstrip to fill extra-large gap clearances.
Installation requires no special tools beyond a utility knife for cutting to length. Clean and dry the bonding surface thoroughly before removing the adhesive liner, as contaminants will reduce adhesion strength. In marine applications, ensure the substrate is free of salt residue before applying. Allow adequate bond time before closing the door or hatch against the strip to achieve full adhesive contact.
