The M.A. FORD. 92100003 is a single-end, 3-flute countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in metalworking and fabrication environments. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a 90-degree included angle and a 45-degree centerline angle. The 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. At 3.25 inches overall length, it provides enough clearance for most drill press and hand-drill applications. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and fabricators working in job shops or field environments are the primary installers. No pilot is included, and the tool is configured for right-hand cutting.

This countersink is suited for work on aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, high-nickel steel, Monel, and plastic. It is a general-purpose countersink for production and maintenance machining where a clean 90-degree seat is required — common applications include preparing holes for flat-head fasteners, deburring drilled holes, and chamfering part edges before assembly. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drill press and CNC spindle operation.

Installation Notes

Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation — do not allow the shank to extend beyond the minimum grip depth. Power down and lock out the machine before changing or inspecting the tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material; dry cutting is acceptable on aluminum and plastic but reduces tool life in high-nickel alloys. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use, as a damaged flute will produce an uneven seat angle.
