The M.A. FORD 92087501 is a single-end, 3-flute countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in a wide range of materials. Built from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it features a 60-degree included angle and a 30-degree centerline angle. The 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. At 3 inches overall length, the tool maintains rigidity during moderate-depth countersinking. The 7/8-inch head diameter and 0.260-inch tip diameter make it well suited to production and maintenance work where consistent chamfer geometry is required. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the typical end users.
This countersink is rated for use on aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, high-nickel steel, Monel, and plastic. It is appropriate for both manual drill press setups and CNC or turret-lathe tooling stations where a straight-shank countersink is specified. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation. It does not include a pilot, so accurate hole placement prior to countersinking is important. Typical applications include screw-seat preparation, edge deburring on sheet and plate stock, and chamfering of drilled through-holes in fabrication or repair environments.
Designed for use on aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, high-nickel steel, Monel, and plastic workpieces. Fits any spindle or chuck accepting a 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before production use. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop before changing or inspecting the tool. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rates and spindle speeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
