The M.A. FORD. 79T075003 is a 6-flute, single-end countersink with a 90-degree included angle, designed for precision chamfering and countersinking operations in metalworking and fabrication environments. Built from high-speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it delivers improved surface hardness and extended tool life compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1/2 inch in diameter, and the overall length is 2.75 inches. Maximum cutting diameter reaches 3/4 inch. This tool is typically installed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and maintenance mechanics working with drill presses, CNC machining centers, or hand-held power tools.
This countersink is suited for both production and maintenance applications across a wide range of workpiece materials. The right-hand cutting direction and 6-flute geometry reduce chatter and produce clean, consistent chamfers. Material compatibility includes alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. It is well suited for countersinking fastener seats, deburring drilled holes, and preparing surfaces for flat-head screw installation in both shop and field environments.
Compatible with alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic workpieces. Fits any drill press, milling machine, or power tool accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Secure the shank fully in a drill chuck or collet before operation and verify that the holding device is rated for the cutting forces involved. Power down and lock out the machine before installing or removing the tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant for the workpiece material to maintain tool life and surface finish quality. Wear proper eye protection and secure the workpiece firmly before beginning any countersinking operation.
