The M.A. FORD. 79T075002 is a 6-flute, single-end countersink designed for precision chamfering and countersinking operations in a wide range of materials. Built from high-speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction at the cutting edge. The 82-degree included angle is the standard for flat-head fastener seating in aerospace and general machining applications. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.5 inches in diameter, the maximum cutting diameter reaches 0.75 inches, and the overall length is 2.75 inches. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drill press and milling machine spindles.
This countersink is suited for use on a broad spectrum of workpiece materials including alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. It is appropriate for production machining, maintenance and repair operations, and fabrication shops where clean, accurate countersink geometry is required for flat-head screw and rivet installations. The 6-flute configuration produces a smoother finish per revolution compared to 3-flute designs, making it a practical choice when surface finish quality matters.
Designed for use with alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces. Fits standard 0.5-inch drill chucks and collets on drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers.
Install into a properly sized drill chuck or collet before powering the spindle. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured before beginning the countersink operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid for steel and stainless steel applications to maintain tool life and achieve consistent finish quality. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine guarding requirements during all operations.
