The M.A. FORD 79T062504 is a 6-flute, single-end countersink designed for right-hand cutting in a wide range of metalworking and fabrication applications. Built from high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers a 100-degree included angle and cuts up to 0.625 inches in diameter. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.375 inches in diameter and the tool runs 2.25 inches overall length. It is sized and constructed for use by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and trade professionals who need consistent countersink geometry on production or maintenance work.
This countersink fits standard drill press, milling machine, and hand-drill chuck setups with a 0.375-inch straight shank. The 100-degree included angle is commonly specified for aerospace and general metalworking fastener seating. It is suited for production countersinking in both shop and field environments where a controlled, repeatable chamfer profile is required.
Designed for countersinking operations in alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces.
Secure the 0.375-inch straight shank in a properly sized drill chuck or collet before use. Always power down or de-energize the machine and bring the spindle to a full stop before changing or inspecting tooling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when countersinking harder materials such as stainless or high-nickel steel to reduce heat buildup and extend tool life. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use and replace when chatter or surface finish quality degrades.
