The M.A. FORD 79T037504 is a single-end, 6-flute countersink designed for precision countersinking in metalworking and fabrication applications. Built from high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction at the cutting edge. The 100-degree included angle suits a wide range of fastener seat profiles. With a 3/8-inch maximum cutting diameter, a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank, and a 2-inch overall length, this tool fits standard drill chucks and quick-change collet systems used in production and maintenance environments. Installation is right-hand cutting only.
This countersink is suited for use in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and MRO operations where consistent, repeatable countersink geometry is required. It is rated for use in a broad range of materials including mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. It is appropriate for manual drill press work as well as CNC and turret-style machine setups where a straight cylindrical shank is compatible.
Compatible with a wide range of materials including alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel. Fits any machine or hand drill accepting a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank.
This tool is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in drill press, lathe, or CNC machine setups. Secure the straight cylindrical shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to maximize tool life and surface finish quality.
