The M.A. FORD. 79T037502 is a single-end, 6-flute countersink designed for precision hole preparation in a wide range of industrial materials. Built from high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) finish, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction during cutting. The 82-degree included angle is the standard for most aerospace and machine screw applications. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1/4 inch in diameter, and the tool has an overall length of 2-3/8 inches with a maximum cutting diameter of 3/8 inch. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and fabrication professionals will find this countersink suited to both manual and machine-fed operations.
This countersink is appropriate for use on a broad spectrum of materials including alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, Monel, and plastic. It fits standard drill press, milling machine, or hand-drill setups where a 1/4-inch straight shank is accepted. The 82-degree geometry is commonly specified in aerospace fastener and general-purpose countersinking applications where flush or near-flush fastener seating is required.
Designed as an OEM-style single-end countersink for use in drill presses, milling machines, and hand drills accepting a 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of this tool should be performed by qualified machinists or fabrication technicians familiar with rotary cutting tools. Secure the workpiece firmly before operation and ensure the chuck is properly tightened on the shank before engaging the spindle. Operate at speeds appropriate for the material being cut; harder materials such as stainless steel require lower RPM than aluminum or plastic. Inspect the cutting flutes for wear or chipping before each use and replace the tool if damage is observed.
