The M.A. FORD. 79T025003 is a single-end, 6-flute countersink designed for right-hand cutting at a 90-degree included angle. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life across a broad range of workpiece materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.25 inches in diameter, and the tool runs 2 inches in overall length. Maximum cutting diameter is 0.25 inches. The TiN finish reduces friction and heat buildup at the cutting edge, making it well-suited for production-rate countersinking in both manual and CNC applications.
This countersink is intended for use on metal and non-metal workpieces including alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. It fits applications requiring a clean 90-degree seat for flat-head fasteners. Typical install scenarios include aerospace component prep, general machining, fabrication shops, and maintenance repair operations where consistent countersink geometry is required. The compact 2-inch overall length suits both benchtop drill press work and hand-held operations.
Designed for countersinking operations in alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces. Fits any standard drill chuck or collet accepting a 0.25-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians using a drill press, milling machine, or hand drill with a compatible chuck or collet. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify rotational runout before cutting. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when working harder materials such as stainless or high-nickel steel to extend tool life. Do not exceed the maximum cutting diameter of 0.25 inches.
