The M.A. FORD. 79T000013 is a 4-piece high speed steel countersink set designed for creating clean, accurately angled seat profiles in a wide range of workpiece materials. Each countersink in the set features a 6-flute geometry and a 90-degree included angle, producing smooth finishes with reduced chatter compared to single- or double-flute tools. Head diameters range from 1/4 inch to 1 inch, and shank diameters range from 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch, covering the most common fastener seat sizes encountered in production and maintenance machining. All four tools carry a TiN (titanium nitride) coating for improved wear resistance and tool life. The set ships in a plastic storage case. It is installed and operated by machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians working with drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held drill motors.
This countersink set is suited for both production and job-shop environments where a range of countersink diameters is needed without changing tool holders repeatedly. The 90-degree included angle matches the most common flat-head fastener seat geometry used in aerospace, general metalworking, and industrial fabrication. Compatible material applications include alloy steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, cast iron, high nickel steel, high tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastics, and stainless steel. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. The single-end design keeps regrinding straightforward when edges eventually dull.
Rated for countersinking in alloy steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, cast iron, high nickel steel, high tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastics, and stainless steel. Straight shanks are compatible with standard drill chucks and ER-style collet holders accepting 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch shank diameters.
Countersinks are installed and operated by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians. Power down and de-energize the spindle before changing tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and confirm runout before cutting. Do not exceed the recommended surface speed for the workpiece material and tool coating — consult the manufacturer speed-and-feed tables for HSS TiN-coated tools on the specific material being machined.
