The M.A. FORD. 79250003 is a 6-flute, high-speed steel countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 90-degree included angle and a 2-1/2 inch head diameter, making it suited for larger-diameter countersink applications. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3/4 inch in diameter and the tool runs to an overall length of 5 inches. The bright/uncoated finish keeps the cutting edge exposed and inspection-ready. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this type of cutter in production and job-shop settings.
This countersink is applied across a wide range of materials including alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. It is a single-end tool with no included pilot and no pilot hole requirement at the countersink stage. Typical use cases include chamfering bolt-hole entries, deburring drilled holes, and preparing screw seats in structural and precision machined components. It is well suited to both manual and CNC machine setups where a 3/4 inch straight shank is compatible.
Compatible with machine setups accepting a 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use on alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic workpieces.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck rated for the intended spindle speed before operation. Always power down and bring the spindle to a complete stop before changing or inspecting the tool. Follow standard shop safety protocols including eye protection and secure workpiece fixturing when operating countersinks at production speeds.
