The M.A. FORD. 79200003 is a 6-flute, 90-degree included angle countersink machined from high-speed steel (HSS) and designed for professional metal fabrication and machining operations. With a 2-inch head diameter and a straight-cylindrical 3/4-inch shank, this tool delivers stable, chatter-resistant performance in both manual and CNC-assisted setups. The bright, uncoated finish keeps heat-related distortion minimal and allows the operator to visually inspect edge condition during use. At 3-3/4 inches overall length, it fits standard toolholders used in vertical mills, drill presses, and production boring setups.
This countersink is suited for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations across a wide range of materials encountered in job shop and production machining environments. Its 90-degree geometry matches the standard fastener seat angle used in most flat-head screw and rivet applications. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with conventional spindle rotation on standard machine tools. The single-end, no-pilot design gives the operator control over hole centering and is appropriate for use in fixtures or with a drill press vise.
Designed for use on alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces. Fits any machine toolholder or drill chuck accepting a 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and sheet metal fabricators using drill presses, vertical mills, or hand-operated drilling equipment. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tool from the chuck or toolholder. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend edge life, particularly when working with stainless or high-tensile steel. Inspect the cutting edges before each use - do not run a chipped or worn countersink, as edge damage will transfer directly to the finished seat.
