The M.A. FORD 79200001 is a 6-flute, single-end countersink made from high-speed steel (HSS) and designed for right-hand cutting. With a 60-degree included angle and a 2 inch head diameter, it handles chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/4 inch in diameter, and the tool runs 2-1/4 inches overall. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for general-purpose HSS tooling. This tool is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals working in production or fabrication environments.
This countersink is suited for both manual and CNC machine tool setups where a clean chamfer or deburring pass is required. It does not include a pilot, making it appropriate for applications where pilot-free entry is preferred. The 60-degree angle and 6-flute geometry produce smooth, chatter-resistant cuts in a broad range of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, and plastics. The 3/4-inch straight shank is compatible with standard drill press chucks, milling machine collets, and CNC tool holders sized to accept that shank diameter.
Designed for use in drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers equipped with tool holders accepting a 3/4-inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool from the holder. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized collet or chuck to prevent runout. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate selection based on workpiece material.
