The M.A. FORD. 79100003 is a 6-flute, single-end countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations across a wide range of materials. Built from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it features a 90-degree included angle and a 0.25-inch tip diameter. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.5 inches in diameter, and the tool runs to an overall length of 2.75 inches. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation on mills and drill presses. This tool is installed and used by machinists and toolroom technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This countersink is suited for use on manual and CNC machines performing chamfer and deburring work on a broad material range. Compatible materials include alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. The single-end configuration and no-pilot design allow direct use in standard tool holders without additional setup hardware. Typical applications include preparing screw seats, breaking sharp edges, and deburring drilled holes in both prototype and production runs.

The 0.5-inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard chucks and collet systems accepting that shank diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists using a standard drill chuck or collet rated for 0.5-inch straight shanks. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before securing or removing the tool. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable tolerance before use to prevent chatter and premature edge wear. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed selection based on workpiece material.
