The M.A. FORD. 79075006 is a 6-flute high-speed steel countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in a wide range of materials. It features a 120-degree included angle (60-degree centerline angle) and a bright, uncoated finish on a straight-cylindrical shank. The 0.75-inch head diameter and 0.5-inch shank diameter pair with a 2.75-inch overall length to suit standard drill press and CNC spindle setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for this tool when clean, consistent seat geometry is required across production and maintenance applications.
This countersink is suited for use on alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. The single-end design and right-hand cutting direction make it a standard fit for conventional machine tool spindles. Typical applications include preparing fastener seats, chamfering hole entries, and cleaning up burrs on drilled through-holes in both shop and field maintenance settings. No pilot is included, so the operator locates the tool on the existing hole.
Designed for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held drill motors accepting a 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel.
Installed by machinists or maintenance technicians in any spindle accepting a 0.5-inch straight shank. Secure the shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before operation and confirm the machine is at a full stop before tool changes. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Follow shop safety protocols and applicable OSHA machine-guarding requirements during all cutting operations.
