The M.A. FORD. 79012504 is a single-end, 6-flute high-speed steel countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations across a wide range of materials. It features a 100-degree included angle (50-degree centerline angle) and a bright, uncoated finish suited for general-purpose cutting. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and die grinders. With an overall length of 1.5 inches and a tip diameter of 0.030 inches, this tool is built for precision work in tight clearances. No pilot is included. The high-speed steel construction provides adequate hardness for production and maintenance machining environments.
This countersink is intended for use in machine shop, maintenance, and fabrication settings where consistent chamfer angles and clean deburring are required. Its 100-degree angle makes it suitable for fastener seat preparation and edge breaking on drilled holes. Compatible materials include alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, mild steel, stainless steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. Machinists and maintenance technicians working with manual mills, drill presses, or hand-held rotary tools will find this tool appropriate for both production runs and one-off service work.
Designed for use in standard 1/8-inch collets and drill chucks on drill presses, CNC machines, manual mills, and handheld rotary tools. Suitable for chamfering and deburring operations on alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, mild steel, stainless steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic workpieces.
Secure the 1/8-inch shank firmly in a properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped before changing or inspecting the tool. Run at speeds appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter - consult published HSS cutting speed tables for guidance. Wear appropriate eye protection; chips generated during countersinking can be sharp and unpredictable.
