The M.A. FORD. 78100004 is a solid carbide countersink designed for precision chamfering, countersinking, and deburring in demanding shop environments. Built with a 100-degree included angle and six flutes, it delivers clean, consistent results across a wide range of materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.5 inches in diameter with an overall length of 2.75 inches. The bright uncoated finish is suited for general-purpose machining where coating compatibility with specific cutting fluids is a consideration. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or maintenance settings will find this tool well matched to high-volume countersinking operations.
This countersink is intended for use on metal and non-metal workpieces in machining, fabrication, and assembly operations. Its six-flute configuration reduces chatter and improves surface finish compared to fewer-flute designs. It is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill press setups where repeatable countersink geometry is required. No pilot is included, making it suited for applications where a pilot is unnecessary or where the operator provides piloting through fixturing.
Designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations on alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces.
Installation and use of this countersink should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with rotary cutting tools. Secure the 0.5-inch shank fully within the collet or chuck before operation and verify runout within acceptable tolerance for the application. Always bring the spindle to a full stop before measuring or inspecting the countersink. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish.
