The M.A. FORD 78100003 is a solid carbide countersink designed for precision chamfering, countersinking, and deburring across a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 90-degree included angle (45-degree centerline angle) and a 6-flute configuration that delivers smooth cutting action and efficient chip clearance. The 0.5-inch straight cylindrical shank seats securely in standard tool holders, while the 1-inch head diameter and 0.25-inch tip diameter provide coverage suited for production and maintenance machining environments. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This countersink is intended for use on a broad spectrum of materials including alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. Its solid carbide construction gives it durability advantages over high-speed steel alternatives when working with harder or more abrasive workpieces. It is well suited to both manual drill press setups and CNC machining centers where consistent countersink geometry is required across production runs.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide countersink compatible with standard 0.5-inch straight cylindrical tool holders used in drill press, milling machine, and CNC machining center applications across metalworking and fabrication environments.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians familiar with rotary cutting tool procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Secure the shank firmly in a compatible collet or drill chuck to the tool holder manufacturer's specified clamping method. Use appropriate cutting speeds and feeds for the workpiece material to avoid tool overheating and premature wear.
