The M.A. FORD. 78062501 is a solid carbide countersink designed for precision chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in metalworking and fabrication environments. With a 60-degree included angle and 6-flute geometry, it delivers smooth, consistent cutting action and reduces chatter compared to single- or fewer-flute designs. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/8 inches in diameter, and the tool has an overall length of 2.375 inches. The bright/uncoated finish makes it well suited for a wide range of materials without coating-compatibility concerns. This tool is typically installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals using a drill press, CNC machining center, or hand-held power tool.
This countersink is intended for use in production and job-shop environments where clean, accurate countersunk holes are required across a broad selection of workpiece materials. It does not include a pilot and features a single end configuration, making it straightforward to deploy in standard chucks and collet holders. It is appropriate for both light-production runs and repetitive deburring tasks on flat or near-flat workpiece surfaces. The 6-flute design supports higher feed rates and finer surface finishes than lower-flute-count alternatives.
Compatible with alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpiece materials as specified by the manufacturer.
Install in a drill press, CNC spindle, or compatible power tool using a chuck or collet sized for a 3/8 inch shank. Secure the workpiece firmly before operation and confirm spindle speed is appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use. Solid carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading or impact that could cause fracture.
