The M.A. FORD. 78050001 is a solid carbide countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in a wide range of materials. It features a 60-degree included angle and six flutes for smooth, efficient cutting. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3/8 inches in diameter, and the tool has an overall length of 2.25 inches. The bright/uncoated finish makes it well-suited for applications where coating buildup could be a concern. This tool is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and experienced fabricators working in production or job-shop environments.
This countersink is appropriate for use in manual milling, CNC machining, and drill-press operations across both light and heavy manufacturing settings. It handles a broad spectrum of workpiece materials, including alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, magnesium alloy, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, mild steel, Monel, and plastic. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation. The single-end, no-pilot design gives the operator direct control over hole placement and depth. It is a practical choice for production countersinking where tool longevity and edge retention matter.
Designed as an OEM-style countersink for use in standard 3/8-inch collets or drill chucks on manual mills, CNC machining centers, and drill presses performing chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations.
This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators into a compatible collet or drill chuck that accepts a 3/8-inch straight shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Verify collet runout is within acceptable tolerance before use, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on carbide tooling. Follow the machine manufacturer and applicable shop-safety guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate selection based on workpiece material.
