The M.A. FORD. 78012502 is a solid carbide countersink designed for precise chamfering, countersinking, and deburring across a wide range of materials. Built with 6 flutes and an 82-degree included angle, it delivers smooth, chatter-resistant cutting in both ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.125 inches in diameter, and the overall length is 1.5 inches, making it well-suited for compact setups and close-tolerance applications. With a tip diameter of 0.030 inches and a single-end configuration, this tool is intended for machinists, tool-and-die workers, and fabricators who need consistent, repeatable results on production or prototype work.
This countersink is built for use on manual mills, CNC machining centers, and drill presses where accurate countersink geometry is required. It handles a broad material range including alloy steel, stainless steel, mild steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. Its compact size makes it effective in tight work envelopes or when working on smaller fastener holes where a larger tool cannot be properly staged.
Designed as an OEM-specification countersink suitable for use in standard 0.125-inch straight-shank collets and drill chucks on CNC and manual machining equipment. Compatible material applications include alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel, as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds-and-feeds selection. Secure the shank fully in the collet or drill chuck before operation, and confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance before cutting. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended surface footage for the target material. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the tool if damage is observed.
