The M.A. FORD. 67150001 is a single-end, fluteless countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in metalworking and fabrication environments. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a 60-degree included angle and a 1-1/2 inch head diameter with a maximum cutting diameter of 1.46 inches. The straight-cylindrical 1/2 inch shank mounts directly in standard drill chucks or tool holders. At 3-1/2 inches overall length, it offers reach suitable for benchtop drilling operations and machining setups. A licensed machinist, toolmaker, or maintenance technician typically selects this tool for production or repair work requiring precise countersink geometry.
This countersink is suited for use on a wide range of materials including mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. Its fluteless design is particularly well suited to non-ferrous and soft materials where chatter and grabbing are concerns. It is appropriate for both production shop environments and maintenance, repair, and operations settings where consistent countersink angles are required across multiple material types.
Designed as an OEM-style countersink for use in standard drill presses, milling machines, and hand drills equipped with a 1/2 inch or larger chuck capable of accepting a straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with rotating cutting tools. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before mounting or removing the tool. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck or collet to the full depth of engagement to prevent runout or pullout during operation. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine guarding requirements when operating at speed.
