The M.A. FORD. 67081203 is a single-end, straight-shank countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations on a wide range of materials. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright uncoated finish, it features a 90-degree included angle and a 45-degree centerline angle. The tool carries a 13/16-inch head diameter with a maximum cutting diameter of 0.78 inches and mounts on a 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank. With an overall length of 2-5/8 inches, it fits standard drill press and hand-held drilling setups. No pilot is included, and the design uses zero flutes for a burnishing-style cut well suited to softer and moderately hard workpiece materials.
This countersink is intended for use in metalworking and light fabrication environments where clean, accurate chamfers and countersunk seat profiles are required. Suitable for right-hand rotation only, it is commonly deployed in machine shop, maintenance, and production drilling operations. Compatible workpiece materials include alloy steel, mild steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, stainless steel, cast iron, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. It is well suited to situations where a pilot-free zero-flute design is preferred to reduce chatter on softer substrates.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style countersink for use in standard drill press, milling machine, or hand-drill setups accepting a 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible material applications include alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using any machine tool or hand drill fitted with a 1/2-inch chuck or collet. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is de-energized before inserting or removing the tool. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck to prevent slippage under cutting load. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool operating procedures when selecting feed rate and spindle speed for the workpiece material.
