The M.A. FORD. 67043703 is a single-end, zero-flute countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations across a wide range of materials. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a 90-degree included angle and a 45-degree centerline angle. The 7/16-inch head diameter and 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks and quick-change holders. At 2 inches overall length, it is suited for light to medium machining setups. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and maintenance professionals install this tool in drill presses, lathes, and hand-held power drills for hole finishing and edge prep work.
This countersink is appropriate for use on alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. Its zero-flute design produces a smooth, chatter-free finish on softer materials and non-ferrous metals, making it a reliable choice for production and maintenance environments where clean countersink geometry is required without aggressive chip removal.
Designed for use with standard 1/4-inch straight-shank drill chucks and quick-change tooling systems. Suitable for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring on alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, Monel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, and plastic.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a drill press, lathe, or hand-held power drill with a compatible 1/4-inch chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify that the workpiece is clamped firmly to prevent movement. Use appropriate cutting fluid when working on ferrous metals to extend tool life. Follow shop safety protocols and wear appropriate eye protection during all cutting operations.
