The M.A. FORD. 61T100002 is a single-flute countersink designed for precise, clean-entry countersinking in a wide range of metals and non-metals. Machined from high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) finish, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction in demanding applications. The 82-degree included angle matches standard fastener head geometry for flush and near-flush seating. With a 1-inch maximum cutting diameter, a 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank, and an overall length of 2.75 inches, it mounts in standard drill presses, milling machines, and CNC setups without adapters. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers of this tool.
This countersink is suited for production and job-shop environments requiring accurate countersink geometry across a broad material range. It performs in both manual and machine-fed operations on ferrous and non-ferrous stock. The TiN coating provides a hard surface layer that resists wear on abrasive materials including stainless steel, cast iron, and high-tensile steel. The single-flute design minimizes chatter and improves finish quality on softer materials such as aluminum, brass, plastic, and magnesium alloy.
Suitable for countersinking operations on alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces.
Install and remove this tool with the spindle fully stopped and power disconnected from the machine. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a collet, end-mill holder, or keyed drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before beginning any operation. Set spindle speed according to the workpiece material and cutting diameter following standard machining reference data. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use and replace the tool if the TiN coating shows significant breakdown at the cutting edge.
