The M.A. FORD 61T062504 is a single-flute countersink designed for precision countersinking operations in a wide range of materials. Built from high-speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction during cutting. The 100-degree included angle suits applications where fastener head geometry demands a wider chamfer profile. With a 5/8 inch maximum cutting diameter and a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank, it mounts directly into standard drill chucks and collet holders. Overall length is 2.25 inches. This tool is suited for machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking professionals working on production or repair tasks.
This countersink is intended for use in machine shop, fabrication, and field maintenance environments. It performs in both handheld and machine-mounted setups. The single-flute design minimizes chatter and produces a clean, consistent chamfer. Rated for use in alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. It is well suited for deburring drilled holes and seating flat-head fasteners flush with a workpiece surface.
Designed for use with standard drill presses, CNC machines, and hand drills accepting a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic workpieces.
This tool is installed by a machinist or tooling technician into any spindle or chuck rated for a 1/4 inch straight shank. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before inserting or removing the countersink. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck or collet to prevent slippage during operation. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and manufacturer feed-rate recommendations for the specific workpiece material.
