The M.A. FORD 61T062503 is a single-flute, 90-degree included-angle countersink designed for precise chamfering and countersinking in a wide range of industrial and trade applications. Machined from high-speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction across ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1/4 inch in diameter with a 2.25-inch overall length. A right-hand cutting direction and single-flute geometry produce clean, chatter-free entry points in materials where a smooth finish and accurate seat angle are required.
This countersink is suited for use on manual drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools wherever a 90-degree chamfer or fastener seat is needed. Compatible material applications include alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel. It is a practical choice for machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and maintenance professionals working in light manufacturing, fabrication shops, and production environments.
Designed for use in standard 1/4-inch straight-shank tool holders, drill chucks, and collet systems on drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers. Suitable for countersinking in alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance tradespeople familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance. Always reduce spindle speed when transitioning to harder materials such as stainless or high-nickel steel, and use appropriate cutting fluid to manage heat. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and replace the tool if chipping or wear is evident.
