The M.A. FORD. 61B050003 is a single-flute, 90-degree countersink designed for precision chamfering and countersinking of drilled holes across a wide range of materials. Manufactured from high-speed steel, it delivers consistent cutting performance in both production and maintenance environments. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.25 inches in diameter and fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. With a maximum cutting diameter of 0.5 inches and an overall length of 2.75 inches, this tool is suited for machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working with hand drills, drill presses, and milling machines.
This countersink is appropriate for use in metalworking, fabrication shops, and general manufacturing settings. The single-flute design reduces chatter and produces a smooth finish on a broad range of workpiece materials. It is sized for light to medium countersinking work on fastener holes in parts made from alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, Monel, and plastic substrates.
Compatible with alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpiece materials. Fits any drill chuck or collet holder accepting a 0.25-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits before cutting. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when countersinking harder materials such as stainless or high-nickel steel to extend tool life. Ensure the spindle speed is set appropriately for the workpiece material and cutting diameter before engaging the tool. Always wear eye protection and secure the workpiece firmly before beginning the cut.
