The M.A. FORD. 61200003 is a single-flute, high-speed steel countersink designed for precision chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in metalworking and fabrication environments. Built with a 90-degree included angle and a 2-inch head diameter, it delivers clean, accurate seat profiles for fastener prep work. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.75 inches in diameter, and the tool runs 3.75 inches in overall length. The bright, uncoated finish is suited for general-purpose cutting where lubrication is applied manually. This tool is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and skilled fabricators working with drill presses, CNC machines, or manual mills.
The 61200003 is built for production and job-shop use where a wide range of materials must be countersunk consistently. The 90-degree angle matches standard flat-head fastener seat geometry. With a 2-inch head diameter, it handles larger-diameter countersink applications that smaller tools cannot reach. The single-flute geometry reduces chatter on interrupted cuts and softer materials, making it effective across a broad material spectrum including aluminum, mild steel, cast iron, stainless steel, brass, plastic, magnesium alloy, alloy steel, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, and Monel.
Rated for use on alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel. Fits any machine spindle or drill chuck accepting a 0.75-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance before cutting. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Set spindle speed according to the workpiece material and head diameter — larger-diameter countersinks require lower RPM than smaller tools. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and remove the tool from service if chipping or wear is detected.
