The M.A. FORD. 61125002 is a single-flute, 82-degree included angle countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it accepts a straight cylindrical shank of 0.5 inches in diameter and measures 3 inches in overall length. The 1-1/4 inch head diameter and 41-degree centerline angle make it well-suited for clean, accurate seat preparation on screw and fastener holes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this countersink in both manual and CNC-assisted setups where controlled, single-pass cutting action is required.
This countersink is intended for use on a broad range of materials, including mild steel, alloy steel, high-tensile steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-nickel steel, Monel, brass, aluminum, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. Its single-flute geometry reduces chatter on softer non-ferrous materials while still providing the rigidity needed on ferrous workpieces. Typical applications include countersinking clearance holes for flat-head fasteners, chamfering drilled hole edges, and light deburring tasks in production or maintenance machining environments.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use in drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers equipped with a collet or chuck capable of accepting a 0.5-inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck before operation and confirm the tool is concentric before running at speed. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the tool. Follow standard shop safety practices and applicable ANSI machining guidelines when selecting feed rates and spindle speeds for the workpiece material.
