The M.A. FORD. 61100004 is a single-flute, high-speed steel countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations across a wide range of materials. It features a 100-degree included angle (50-degree centerline angle) and a bright, uncoated finish. The 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill press and lathe tooling. With a 1-inch head diameter and a tip diameter of 0.1200 inches, this tool delivers clean, accurate countersinks in both production and maintenance environments. It is sized for general metalworking and fabrication shops where consistent hole preparation is required.
This countersink is suited for use on a broad range of materials including alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. The right-hand cutting direction and single-flute geometry make it straightforward to control feed rate and finish quality. Typical applications include screw-seat preparation, edge chamfering, and burr removal following drilling operations in both manual and CNC setups. It does not include a pilot and is configured as a single-end tool.
Designed as an OEM-style countersink for use in drill presses, lathes, and manual or CNC machining centers accepting a 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations on alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel.
This tool is installed by machinists and tool-and-die technicians in machine shop environments. Secure the shank firmly in a drill chuck or toolholder before operation and confirm the workpiece is clamped or fixtured before engaging the cut. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use and replace if the edge shows damage that could affect countersink geometry.
