The M.A. FORD. 61100003 is a single-flute, high-speed steel countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in metal and non-metal workpieces. The tool features a 90-degree included angle (45-degree centerline angle) and a 1-inch head diameter, making it well suited for producing clean, accurate countersunk seat profiles in a wide range of shop and field environments. The 0.500-inch straight cylindrical shank mounts directly in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Overall length is 2.75 inches. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for general-purpose cutting without added coating cost. Weight is 0.6 pounds.
This countersink is intended for use across a broad spectrum of materials including mild steel, alloy steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, stainless steel, cast iron, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastics. It is appropriate for production shops, maintenance facilities, and field service applications where countersinking fastener seats, chamfering hole entries, or removing burrs from drilled holes is required. A single-flute design is preferred when cutting softer or interrupted materials where chatter control is a priority. No pilot is included, and the tool is configured as a head-only countersink with a single end.
Designed as an OEM-style single-flute countersink for use in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld drill drivers equipped with a 0.500-inch shank-capable chuck or collet.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using standard toolholding equipment. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the 0.500-inch shank fully within the chuck or collet to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer. When countersinking by hand or on a drill press, use consistent feed pressure and appropriate cutting fluid for steel and stainless applications to extend tool life.
