The M.A. FORD. 61100002 is a single-flute, high-speed steel countersink designed for precision chamfering, countersinking, and deburring across a wide range of metal and non-metal materials. It features an 82-degree included angle with a 1-inch head diameter and a straight-cylindrical 1/2-inch shank that seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. The bright, uncoated finish is suitable for general-purpose work where coating is not required. With an overall length of 2.75 inches, this tool is compact enough for close-quarters use while maintaining rigidity under cutting load. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians working in shop or field environments.
This countersink is suited for use on alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, brass, aluminum, magnesium, magnesium alloy, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, Monel, and plastic. The single-flute geometry produces a smooth, chatter-resistant finish in these materials, making it a practical choice for aerospace, industrial maintenance, and general fabrication applications. It does not include a pilot and is not configured as a head-only unit, making it a standalone, self-guiding tool for standard countersink operations on flat and curved workpiece surfaces.
Suitable for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations on alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel. Fits any machine spindle or drill press accepting a 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Install in a drill press, milling machine, or hand drill with a collet or chuck sized for a 1/2-inch straight shank. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered off before inserting or removing the tool. Secure the shank firmly to prevent slippage under cutting load. Always use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow applicable shop safety procedures when operating rotary cutting tools.
