The M.A. FORD. 61062502 is a single-flute, high-speed steel countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in metalworking and fabrication environments. The tool features an 82-degree included angle with a 41-degree centerline angle, making it well suited for standard fastener seat preparation. The 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank and 2.25-inch overall length fit most standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power tools. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for general-purpose cutting across a broad range of materials. This tool is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, maintenance mechanics, and fabricators.
This countersink is rated for use on alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. The single-flute design produces a clean, chatter-free finish in softer and medium-hardness materials and is well suited for hand-feed drilling operations where controlled feed rate is easier to maintain. It is commonly used in both production and job-shop settings for preparing screw and bolt seats to match 82-degree flat-head fastener geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style single-flute countersink for general metalworking and fabrication use across the listed material types including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, and plastics.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or trained technician following standard machine-shop safety practices. Ensure the spindle or drill is fully stopped and the tool is securely clamped in the collet or chuck before beginning work. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when countersinking ferrous metals to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Do not exceed the recommended feed rate for the material being cut; single-flute tools require controlled, steady feed pressure to avoid tool deflection.
