The M.A. FORD. 61050002 is a single-flute high-speed steel countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in metal and non-metal workpieces. It features an 82-degree included angle, which is standard for flat-head fastener seating in many aerospace and general machining applications. The 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and quick-change holders. At 2 inches overall length and a 1/2-inch head diameter, it handles a wide range of countersink diameters in a compact tool profile. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose use across a broad material range without added coating cost.
This countersink is suited for use in machine shops, production lines, and field fabrication environments where a clean, accurate countersink seat is required for flat-head screws or rivets. It performs on alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, magnesium alloy, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, Monel, and plastic. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills. The single-flute design reduces chatter and produces a cleaner finish compared to multi-flute alternatives on softer or gummy materials.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink compatible with alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces.
Install the 1/4-inch shank securely in a drill chuck or quick-change holder before use; verify runout before engaging the workpiece. Power down the machine and confirm the spindle is fully stopped before changing or adjusting tooling. Use appropriate cutting fluid for ferrous metals and stainless steel to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine-specific operating procedures when setting spindle speed and feed rate.
