The M.A. FORD 61037504 is a single-flute, high-speed steel countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations on a wide range of materials. It features a 100-degree included angle (50-degree centerline angle) and a 3/8-inch head diameter, making it well suited for standard fastener seat preparation. The straight cylindrical 1/4-inch shank fits common drill chucks and quick-change holders. At 2 inches overall length, it is compact enough for close-quarters work. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for general-purpose cutting without specialty coating requirements. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians are the typical end users.
This countersink is used in job shops, production machining cells, and maintenance-repair-overhaul environments where precise fastener seat geometry is required. Its single-flute design reduces chatter and produces a clean, smooth finish on the countersink seat. The broad material compatibility makes it a practical choice when operators work across mixed-material workpieces in a single setup. It is sold individually as a single-piece unit.
Compatible with alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces. Fits any tool holder accepting a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotary cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck or collet and verify concentricity before engaging the workpiece. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when working with ferrous materials to extend tool life and improve finish quality.
