The M.A. FORD. 61018704 is a single-flute, high-speed steel countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in metalworking and fabrication applications. It features a 100-degree included angle (50-degree centerline angle) and a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 3/16 inches in diameter. Overall length is 1.5 inches, with a tip diameter of 0.045 inches. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose use across a wide range of materials. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard drill press and hand-drill setups. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and fabrication pros are the primary installers of this tool.
This countersink is suited for light-duty chamfering and deburring work on holes in alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, Monel, and plastic. Its compact 1.5-inch overall length makes it practical for use in tight workspaces or on small workpieces. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks without requiring a dedicated holder. It does not include a pilot and is sold as a head-and-shank unit, not a head-only component.
Designed for use in standard drill presses, CNC machines, and hand drills with a 3/16-inch chuck capacity. Compatible material applications include alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel.
This tool is installed by machinists and fabricators in machine shop and production environments. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the drill chuck before operation and confirm the spindle speed is appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter. De-energize or power down any machine tool fully before changing or seating this countersink. Do not exceed the tool's recommended feed and speed parameters for the material being cut.
