The M.A. FORD. 60100003 is a single-flute, solid carbide countersink designed for precision chamfering and countersinking operations across a wide range of materials. It features a 90-degree included angle with a 45-degree centerline angle, a 1-inch head diameter, and a 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank. The bright/uncoated finish makes it well suited for applications where coating buildup or heat-related distortion must be avoided. At 3 inches overall length and 0.414 pounds, this tool is sized for use in standard drill presses, milling machines, and CNC setups. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and metalworking fabricators.
This countersink is rated for use across a broad material spectrum including alloy steel, mild steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, stainless steel, cast iron, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. The single-flute geometry produces a smooth, chatter-free finish and is particularly effective in softer non-ferrous materials and plastics where multi-flute tools can grab. It does not include a pilot and is configured as a single-end tool with no pilot hole guidance required.
Designed for use in drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers accepting a 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces.
This tool should be installed by qualified machinists following standard machine-shop safety procedures. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully in the toolholder or chuck to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth before operation. Inspect the cutting edge for chips or wear before each use, as carbide tools can fracture under interrupted cuts if pre-existing damage is present.
