The M.A. FORD. 60100002 is a single-flute solid carbide countersink designed for precision chamfering and seat preparation across a broad range of workpiece materials. Built with an 82-degree included angle and a 1-inch head diameter, it produces clean, accurate countersinks suited for flathead fastener seating and deburring operations. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.5 inches in diameter and the tool runs 3 inches overall length. A bright, uncoated finish keeps the carbide substrate exposed for maximum edge sharpness out of the box. This tool is used by machinists and toolroom professionals working on manual mills, CNC machining centers, and drill presses.
This countersink is suited for both production and job-shop environments where a wide range of material types are encountered in a single run. It handles alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. The single-flute geometry reduces chatter and produces a smooth finish in difficult-to-machine materials. No pilot is included, making it compatible with guided setups using an external bushing or free-hand operation on a rigid machine setup.
Designed for use in standard 0.5-inch collets, end mill holders, or drill chucks. Compatible with materials including alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, Monel, mild steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck rated for the spindle speed appropriate to the workpiece material and head diameter before beginning the operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended spindle speed for the material being cut, and always verify runout after chucking to protect both the tool and the workpiece surface.
