The M.A. FORD 60050004C is a single-flute solid carbide countersink designed for precision chamfering, countersinking, and deburring across a wide range of materials. It features a 100-degree included angle and a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 1/4 inch in diameter. The overall length is 2.375 inches, and the head diameter is 0.5 inches. The cutting range spans from 1/16 inch minimum to 29/64 inch maximum cutting diameter. The carbide cutting geometry delivers clean entry angles on both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates. Licensed machinists and tooling specialists typically select this countersink for high-precision hole prep in production and maintenance environments.
This countersink is suited for use on alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. The right-hand cutting direction and single-flute design make it effective for controlled material removal in both manual and CNC-driven applications. It is appropriate for light chamfering of fastener seats, deburring drilled holes, and preparing countersunk screw recesses in both production shop and field maintenance scenarios.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct procurement countersink for standard 1/4 inch straight-shank toolholders, collets, and drill chucks used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drilling equipment.
This countersink is installed by machinists and tooling technicians using a standard collet, end mill holder, or drill chuck sized for a 1/4 inch straight shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing or seating the tool. Verify shank seating depth and runout before beginning a cut to avoid premature tool wear. Carbide tooling is brittle - avoid side-loading or impact contact during setup and storage.
