The M.A. FORD 40503100 is a combination drill and countersink tool designed for simultaneous drilling and countersinking in a single operation. Built from solid carbide with a bright polished finish, this Series 405 tool features a 1/8 inch body diameter, a 1/32 inch drill point diameter, and a 1/32 inch drill point length. The included angle is 60 degrees, and the tool has a plain cutting edge style with a double end type and right-hand cut direction. At 5 inches overall length, it is classified as a long-length tool. It is sized as a trade size 0 and suited for precision metalworking applications requiring consistent, clean countersink geometry.
This combo drill countersink is intended for use on cast iron, hardened steel, special alloy, stainless steel, and steel workpieces. It is well-suited for machining, fabrication, and toolroom environments where accurate countersink placement is critical. The solid carbide construction supports use in demanding materials where high-speed steel tools wear prematurely. Both the primary and secondary workpiece material ratings cover the same material range, making this tool a consistent choice across mixed-material production runs.
Rated for use on cast iron, hardened steel, special alloy, stainless steel, and steel. Designed for use as part of the M.A. FORD Series 405 combo drill countersink line in trade size 0.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision fabricators using drill presses, CNC machining centers, or manual milling machines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing or seating the tool in the holder. Solid carbide is brittle - avoid lateral loading or interrupted cuts that can cause chipping. Follow machine manufacturer specifications for speed and feed rates appropriate to the workpiece material.
