The M.A. FORD. 40204680 is a combination drill countersink designed for simultaneous drilling and countersinking in a single operation. Built from solid carbide with a bright polished finish, this tool delivers the hardness and wear resistance needed for cutting through demanding workpiece materials including stainless steel, hardened steel, cast iron, special alloys, and standard steel. The body diameter measures 1/8 inch, the drill point diameter is 3/64 inch, and the overall length is 1-1/2 inches. The 60-degree included angle and right-hand cutting direction make it a direct fit for standard countersink applications in precision machining and fabrication work.
This tool is suited for machine shops, tool-and-die operations, aerospace fabrication, and general metalworking environments where accurate countersinking alongside pilot drilling is required. The double-end design extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends. Series 402 long-length configuration accommodates deeper reach applications where standard-length tools fall short. It is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling setups when working with ferrous and high-strength alloy materials.
Rated for use on cast iron, hardened steel, special alloys, stainless steel, and standard steel workpieces. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct addition for Series 402 combo drill countersink tooling setups.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Power down and lock out all machinery before changing or securing the tool in the chuck or collet. Carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to chipping if subjected to lateral impact or improper run-out - confirm accurate tool holder alignment before operation. Follow machine manufacturer speed and feed recommendations for solid carbide tooling on the specific workpiece material.
