The M.A. FORD 380CB37514AX is a single-end corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Built from solid carbide with a PVD-applied Altima Xtreme coating, it delivers heat and wear resistance required in high-temperature alloy cutting. The 3/8-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 0.03-inch corner radius, 9-flute super-close pitch geometry, and a 37-degree medium helix to maximize chip evacuation while reducing vibration during roughing operations. The straight-cylindrical 3/8-inch shank seats directly into a standard toolholder. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in CNC milling applications will find this tool designed specifically for aggressive material removal in tough workpiece materials.
This end mill is intended for roughing operations on stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in both production machining and precision job-shop environments. The 9-flute super-close pitch configuration supports high feed rates and stable cutting at elevated surface speeds typical of modern CNC machining centers. With a 1-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length, it suits standard toolholder projections for short-to-medium reach applications. The chipbreaker geometry assists in breaking up long stringy chips common in stainless and nickel-based superalloy cutting. This tool is not centercutting and is not intended for plunge entry.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Not centercutting; not suited for plunge milling entry.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the recommended gauge-line depth before torquing the retention mechanism per toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches right-hand cutting before engaging the workpiece. This tool is designed for roughing passes; verify appropriate feed and speed parameters for the specific workpiece material and machine before cutting.
