The M.A. FORD. 30209800 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit engineered for precision drilling in PCB fabrication and electronics manufacturing. It carries a No. 40 wire gauge designation with a decimal diameter of 0.098 inches (2.49 mm) and uses a 1/8 inch (3.18 mm) shank. The 130-degree drill point angle and fast spiral geometry with a 35-degree helix angle combine to clear chips efficiently and maintain hole accuracy in tight-tolerance board work. The tapered web configuration adds rigidity at the cutting edge. This bit is sold individually and handled by machinists, CNC operators, and electronics fabricators working on precision drilling applications.
This drill bit is suited for use in CNC drilling machines and precision drill presses where circuit board and fine-hole work demands consistent, repeatable results. Beyond PCB applications, the geometry and solid carbide construction make it capable in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and titanium. It is appropriate for both production environments and prototype board work where hole diameter tolerance is critical. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional CNC spindle setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use drill bit for CNC drilling machines and precision drill presses that accept a 1/8 inch round shank. Compatible with toolholders and chucks sized for 0.125 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Power down and de-energize the spindle completely before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and squarely in the chuck or collet and verify runout before commencing a drilling cycle. Avoid applying side load to the bit during drilling, as small-diameter carbide is brittle and susceptible to breakage under lateral force.
