The M.A. FORD. 30203300 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding materials. It carries a No. 66 wire gauge size, equal to 0.0330 inches in diameter, and features a 130-degree point angle suited for harder workpiece materials. The bit measures 1.5 inches in overall length with a 0.250-inch flute length. With a fast spiral flute and right-hand cutting direction, it removes chips efficiently in tight, small-diameter applications. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and metalworking trades, as well as machinists and tool-and-die professionals, install this bit into CNC machines, drill presses, and handheld precision drilling equipment.
This micro drill bit is intended for use on a wide range of materials including cast iron, hardened steel, stainless steel, steel, alloy steel, carbon steel, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, special alloys, and tool steel. Its solid carbide construction handles the hardness and abrasiveness of these materials better than high-speed steel alternatives. It is appropriate for both production drilling and prototype work where tight tolerances and small hole diameters are required. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard 1/8-inch collets and chucks commonly found in precision drilling setups.
Compatible with primary workpiece materials including cast iron, hardened steel, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, and steel (ISO material codes K, P, N), as well as secondary materials such as alloy steel, aluminum, carbon steel, non-ferrous metals, special alloys, and tool steel. Fits standard 1/8-inch collets and straight-cylindrical chuck setups.
Installation and use of this bit is performed by machinists, toolmakers, or trained drill press operators. Before mounting, ensure the spindle and chuck are powered down and fully stopped. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a 1/8-inch collet or equivalent chuck to prevent runout, which is critical at this diameter. Micro drill bits are brittle at small diameters — avoid side loading, excessive feed pressure, or unsupported workpiece movement during drilling.
