The M.A. FORD 30004720 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit engineered for precision drilling in PCB fabrication and electronics manufacturing applications. Ground to a 118-degree point angle with a fast spiral flute design, it produces clean, accurate holes in thin and multilayer board materials. The 1.2 mm diameter bit runs at a right-hand cut with a 35-degree helix angle and an uncoated bright finish, making it well-suited for high-speed spindle use. Machinists, PCB fabricators, and electronics technicians working with CNC drilling equipment are the primary users of this bit type.
This bit is built for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel in addition to circuit board substrates. Its compact overall length of 38 mm and 16 mm flute length make it appropriate for close-tolerance work on PCB drilling machines and benchtop CNC mills. The solid carbide construction provides the rigidity needed to maintain hole position accuracy at small diameters without deflection. Series 300 bits from M.A. FORD are commonly used in production drilling environments where consistent hole quality is required across high volumes.
Rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel workpiece materials. Designed for CNC PCB drilling machines and small-diameter precision drill presses accepting a 1.2 mm straight shank.
This bit is installed by qualified machinists or PCB fabrication technicians using appropriate collets or chucks rated for 1.2 mm shanks. Verify spindle runout is within tolerance before seating the bit, as small-diameter carbide bits are sensitive to lateral load. Never apply side pressure or use the bit for slot milling. Carbide is brittle and will fracture if dropped or impacted against hard surfaces.
