The M.A. FORD. 2XDSR6299A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys. It carries a 16.00 mm (0.6299 inch) diameter, a 142-degree split point, and an ALtima AlTiN proprietary coating that extends tool life in demanding production environments. The overall length is 146.00 mm (5.748 inches), with a flute length of 82.00 mm (3.228 inches) and a maximum drilling depth of 66.00 mm. The straight cylindrical shank matches the bit diameter at 16.00 mm, making it compatible with standard chucks and toolholders. This drill is built for machinists and toolroom professionals running CNC or manual machines in heavy-duty applications.
This bit is suited for production and job-shop environments where difficult materials are the norm. Primary workpiece material classifications are H (hardened steel), M (stainless steel), and S (high-temperature alloy), covering a broad range of ferrous and exotic-metal applications. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry support chip evacuation in deeper holes. It is a right-hand cutting drill with a standard point type, packaged individually for single-unit procurement. This drill does not include coolant-through capability; apply external cutting fluid or flood coolant to manage heat at the cutting zone. Carbide tooling is brittle compared to high-speed steel and should not be subjected to side loading or interrupted cuts beyond the tool design parameters.
