The M.A. FORD 2XDSR3425A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It features an 8.70 mm (0.3425 inch) cutting diameter, a 142-degree point angle for reduced thrust and improved self-centering, and an ALtima plus Titanium Nitride (TiN) combination coating that extends tool life in abrasive and hard-to-machine workpiece materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 10.00 mm in diameter, and the two-flute right-hand spiral geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling professionals install this drill in production and job-shop environments where consistent dimensional accuracy and tool longevity are required.
This drill is engineered primarily for use in temperature-resistant alloys, titanium, and similar difficult-to-machine materials classified under ISO material codes H, M, and S. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD and a maximum recommended drilling depth of 44.00 mm, it is suited for moderate-depth bored holes in aerospace, medical, and industrial machining applications. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or cutting fluid delivery should be used when drilling heat-sensitive alloys to manage chip load and workpiece temperature.
Designed for use in machining centers, CNC drill presses, and manual machines accepting a 10.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are temperature-resistant alloys, titanium, and similar high-strength metals corresponding to ISO material codes H, M, and S.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle and collet or chuck are fully de-energized and locked out before inserting or removing the drill. The straight-cylindrical shank requires a properly sized collet or drill chuck with adequate clamping torque to prevent slippage under cutting loads. Because this drill has no internal coolant-through channel, apply external cutting fluid or coolant consistently to control heat buildup when drilling titanium or heat-resistant alloys.
